The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals is recruiting a new faculty member for an established Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology program. The faculty member will be based at the Benioff Children’s Hospitals (BCH) San Francisco campus. The faculty member will participate in invasive electrophysiology procedures, an outpatient arrhythmia practice, and
inpatient arrhythmia consultations at BCH San Francisco. Appointment will be made at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor ranks of the Clinical X, or Clinical Health Sciences (HS) faculty series.

Required qualifications include:
• Medical Degree
• CA medical license or CA medical license eligible
• Board certification in Pediatrics and subspecialty certification in Pediatric Cardiology; including formal clinical training or adequate experience in pediatric and congenital electrophysiology
• An interest, commitment and experience in teaching and research is essential
• Advanced 4th year pediatric fellowship training and a minimum three years’ practice experience preferred
• Previous experience in diagnostic EP studies, catheter ablation techniques, and cardiovascular implantable electronic device (CIED) procedures

Expected duties include:
• Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Clinical responsibilities: You will perform and supervise invasive electrophysiology procedures, including diagnostic EP studies, catheter ablation procedures, and Cardiovascular Implantable Electronic Device (CIED) procedures. You will maintain an outpatient arrhythmia practice. You will provide inpatient arrhythmia consultation to cardiac and non-cardiac services. You will be responsible for reading ECGs and
ambulatory cardiac monitoring studies. You will participate in teaching and academic aspects of the program.
• Inpatient Cardiology Service: You will be a member of the inpatient cardiology service along with approximately 8 other pediatric cardiologists. The service runs the 12-bed Cardiac Transitional Care Unit and consults on all other pediatric cardiology patients (pre-and post-surgical, and medical consultation) in the hospital. The weekday service will entail approximately eight weeks of weekday service. The weekend on call service will be shared among a larger group of cardiologists, entailing about six weekends per year.
